Itinerary
In the morning, depart from the capital towards the city of Barka, approximately a one-hour drive. A brief stop at the lively fish market enhances the authenticity of this immersive encounter.
Head to Nakhl Fort, one of the largest and most beautiful forts in the Sultanate! This fortress is located in the foothills of the mountains, in a charming village with extensive date palm plantations. You can stroll inside this restored fortress and visit all the rooms, which have been beautifully decorated in the original old style. The view from the top of the fortress over the mountains and green date plantations is exceptional.
Continue to the Nakhl hot spring "Ain Thawara," located behind the fort, in the heart of the palm grove, surrounded by lush date palm plantations irrigated by traditional irrigation canals. This spot is ideal for relaxation and refreshment.
Conclude your visit with an exploration of Al Hazm Castle, situated in the town of Rustaq, one of the most magnificent castles in Oman. This inspiring architectural masterpiece was primarily designed for defense and security purposes. It is a unique building of its kind.
